Academics by Grade
Pre-Kindergarten (K3 and K4) program is a full day academic-based program, with a focus on developing social skills and interaction with peers. We aim to teach the whole child by providing a nurturing and secure environment in which learning can take place. Our qualified teachers, with the help of full time assistants, focus on giving personal attention to each child by using developmentally appropriate methods. The early years are important; a time when good habits and character is developed.
The curriculum focuses on these areas of development:
Religion — Development of a positive self-image in relationship to a loving God. The weekly Gospels are brought to the children through the ‘Seeds’ magazine. Community Prayer, class prayer, and weekly Mass foster an environment where children can grow in their faith.
Language Arts — Development of communication skills that enable a child to share his/her world with others as well as build stronger comprehension skills, speaking, listening, and fine motor skills.
Mathematics — Development of knowledge that comes from the understanding of quantitative concepts, problem solving, and reasoning.
Social Studies — Development Science — Development of a natural curiosity leading children to question, investigate, manipulate, classify, and report findings.

Physical Development—Physical development is enhanced by daily opportunities to play outdoors and interact with each other in Physical Education classes. St. Anne School Kindergarten classes (both K4 and K5)experience P.E. class 2 times per week.
Spanish — Development of appreciation for Hispanic cultures and the language.
Music — Development of a love and appreciation for rhythm, musical intonation, and lyrics.
Library — Development of a natural curiosity to encourage students to try new experiences and introduce young learners to the wonderful world of reading.
Art — Experience of a variety of mediums to enhance the development of fine motor skills and creativity.
