Enrichment
We believe in you.
The Kindergarten (3-5 year old) curriculums are all about getting to know the computer and having fun with learning. We discuss the parts of a computer, how to care for the computer, and how to use the computer. Hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills are developed through the use of the mouse and the keyboard. We reinforce classroom skills with the software and internet –based programs utilized in computer class.
The first and second grade curriculum begins the study of the Microsoft Office suite programs. We learn to format spreadsheets, type basic data into them, and use them to make a table. We learn to format and type documents with Microsoft Word. We use PowerPoint to make some very creative presentations together. We also use software and internet programs that help to enrich and extend the classroom studies.
The curriculum for the third through fifth grades incorporates the Microsoft Office Suite products into the classroom curriculum and extends many lessons that we learn about. From states to animal adaptations, we work closely together to help make learning authentic and engaging. Our comprehensive curriculum covers internet safety, keyboarding skills, research skills, PowerPoint presentations, Word processing, spreadsheets, and problem solving.
Middle School students have an opportunity to take their computer skills to the next level by planning, participating, editing, and producing the school’s yearbook. They also have the opportunity to produce multimedia presentations to enhance the curriculum in their other classrooms.
